SAM is an award-winning, independent photographic artist, product photographer, photojournalist, image editor/retoucher, content editor, journalist/editor, and art/photo educator. His primary photographic subjects include performing arts, events, portraiture, art, antiques, architecture, travel, and the natural world. On this site, you will see his curated selections, completed projects, and postings of new work in these various categories.

Since the late 1980s, SAM's images and writing have been published in various Ohio and regional publications, as well as various national textbooks and trade publications. He has also served as a book and publications editor for such titles as Photographer’s Market and the professional photographic publication Ohio Valley ASMP News. Being an accomplished digital artist, he has also taught digital imaging/retouching in area art programs and workshops in Southwestern Ohio for close to 15 years.
